NEW GROUP!

A new, informal Singing Group at the PPC. The group will run once a month on the third Friday of each month from Friday 19th April. Future groups will meet on 17 May, 21 June, 19 July, 16 Aug, 20 Sept, 18 Oct, 15 Nov, 20 Dec.

The sessions will run from 7.30-9.00pm and will be facilitated by a few of us already involved with the Centre on a regular basis. We are not professionals, but we ARE enthusiastic and convinced of the benefits of singing together.

The group is for anybody who would like to come and sing, and we particularly
welcome pregnant women and new mothers. Babes in arms also welcome.

We will provide refreshments and the famous PPC biscuits!

This group will run on a voluntary basis to raise funds for the Centre. We would therefore appreciate a donation of £3-5 per session. There is no need to book you can just turn up. Or if you would like to find out more information please contact Daisy on the number below.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Daisy (07533050939), Nadine, Fiona and Robyn

This was a pilot project which ran for 6 months to see if women wanted to come along to chat to a midwife about anything to do with their pregnancy, forthcoming birth or if they have recently had their baby and wanted to have a debrief. This was in addition to the care they were receiving from their community midwives. No clinical care was given, only a time for discussion and to get questions answered which they may not have had time to chat about at their midwifery appointments.

We are evaluating the feedback that we have received and will be looking to change the session format. We hope to restart these one-to-one appointments in the future.

If you are interested in attending a future session or if you want any further information please contact Jenny on the details below.

jennypatterson@blueyonder.co.uk

The sessions will be run by Jenny Patterson, local Edinburgh midwife and Supervisor of Midwives.

Jenny has spent several years working with women as part of both the NHS and as an independent midwife and alongside her colleague has been running our monthly ‘Choices for Childbirth’ evening.

Through this Jenny is aware of how little time is available to women to discuss questions and is offering this opportunity for women to ask questions one to one out with the clinical appointment.
