Breastfeeding Support Group

The Pregnancy and Parents Centre  offers La Leche League breastfeeding groups once a month.   The group aims to help mothers to breastfeed through mother to mother support, encouragement, information and  education.  The LLL groups are informal meetings which are open to all pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.  Children are always welcome, as too are female friends and relatives.

There is no need to book or a requirement to come to every meeting but you are welcome to keep coming to meetings for as long as you wish.

Meetings follow a cycle of four broad topics: Why breastfeeding is good for mothers and babies, Getting off to a good start, Overcoming or avoiding challenges and difficulties, Nutrition and weaning.  You can see which themes will be discussed on the dates below.

All meetings make time for mothers’ questions – if you have a question, please ask!

LLL believes that mothers know their own babies best.  We want you to feel free to express your own ideas and experiences and to take from meetings the ideas that work for you and your family.
