Parent Support and Counselling
Are you pregnant, new to parenting, or an experienced parent?
Sometimes the changes we experience around the time of pregnancy and birth can be unexpected and/or frightening
Counselling
Things can arise which can dispirit or dis-orientate us, resulting in feelings of helplessness or hopelessness and we can get stuck or feel trapped.
From my experience as a midwife and counsellor, I have found that talking to someone who listens carefully to you can help. Counselling offers the opportunity to better understand ourselves and make changes towards more fulfilling ways of living. People come to counselling with a range of concerns such as depression, anxieties, relationship difficulties (with other adults, children or adolescents), anger, grief and abuse, as well as a more general desire to explore possibilities for greater fulfilment in life.
My approach is respectful, forward looking, optimistic and creative. I can meet with you in a comfortable, confidential setting, to explore your needs and possible ways of moving forward.
Parent Support
Family life with new or older children can present its own set of challenges. Children can leave adults feeling exasperated, exhausted and desperate.
At the Pregnancy and Parents Centre I provide:
• a safe, respectful space for parents to talk abut their parenting concerns and worries.
• support for parenting in practical, creative and immediate ways.
• a chance to explore ways of interacting with children which foster greater connections while encouraging co-operation and autonomy/ harmony.
I welcome anyone who is experiencing concerns, anxieties or distress of any kind, individuals/couples/families/children/parents or expectant parents.
