Parent Support and Counselling
Pregnant? Parenting?
Sometimes the changes women experience at this time can be unexpected and/or frightening.
“From my experience as a midwife and counsellor I have found that talking to someone who understands can help.”
Jenny Newland, adult and child counsellor, can meet with you to explore your needs in a comfortable, confidential setting and welcomes anyone who is experiencing distress of any kind at this time.
Jenny’s Approach to Counselling
In the everyday course of events, we get on with life without needing professional assistance, however, things come up which can de-spirit or disorientate us, resulting in feelings of helplessness or hopelessness and we can “get stuck” or feel trapped. My approach is based on Personal Construct Psychology (PCP), a practical and optimistic psychology. This involves finding out how you personally make sense of the world. We would start by building up a picture of yourself and how you see things. From there we can work together to see how things might be improved.
